We loved taking lessons ahead of our wedding with Ivan at Dance Passion! My now-husband and I had never taken dance lessons like this before and weren't sure what to expect, but Ivan has such a fun personality and had us laughing and feeling so comfortable. He really helped my partner learn to lead and me learn how to be elegant.
We were not originally planning on doing anything to involved for our first dance, but we loved the initial free lesson and signed up for a package that included private lessons. Soon enough we were learning dips and spins and all kinds of cool stuff. It really wowed our guests, but best of all we had a lot of fun as we grew our confidence and made some great memories at our lessons. My fiancé and I have been taking lessons with Ivan since February. What started out as a date night we found on Groupon, turned into a creative/active hobby we absolutely love! Ivan has truly helped us learn to dance for life rather than just learning a routine. While he can choreograph a beautiful dance for your wedding (which he has for us), he is an impactful teacher than can show you how to lead, follow, or work as a pair for any style you want. My fiance and I can now hear music and dance fluidly in the kitchen together and anywhere else because of how we’ve been taught to synchronize with eachother. We love our weekly lessons with him and highly encourage you to try it out! You don’t have to be great to start, but you need to start to be great. Dance like no one is watching!!
Our wedding was a month ago, my fiance and I took 5 private lessons with Ivan starting four weeks before our and we were beyond impressed. Both of us have ZERO experience dancing, we told him our first dance song (Joy of my Life by Chris Stapleton) and he went straight to work helping us create a routine that we felt comfortable with. We would work on 20-30 seconds of the routine during each session then practice at home before the next. Ivan was extremely patient with both of us, correcting our mistakes but also not nitpicking the smaller details, allowing us to flow and finish the part of the routine we were focusing on before making adjustments. He helped us focus on all aspects of the dance, including teaching my wife how to look more eloquent and dramatic, what I needed to work on to be a stronger lead, keeping rhythm and timing, as well as practicing where we needed to be facing during the most important parts of the dance for the photographer. Our first dance was a huge hit during our wedding, we've had nonstop feedback and compliments about it since. We will definitely be going back for more dancing with Ivan, it is such a good way to blow off steam after a long work day and a great bonding experience with your significant other! We came to Ivan with a "mission impossible". 3 weeks to the wedding and we want to dance. We had never met him before, are both beginner dancers and hey... we also wanted to mix THREE different styles!!! He did nothing but magic!! Plus my fiancée is the world champion in backleading, and he was just great at helping us to work well together! Thank you so much Ivan!!!!
I have always wanted to learn ballroom dancing and I don’t know why I waited. Ivan and Kate make the process so much fun. They are excellent teachers and super passionate about what they do. I have taken the group lessons, individual lessons and the socials and I have a great time at all of them. Highly recommend!
